Repeat Prescriptions
If you have regular medication for a condition, that your doctor is aware of, you can periodically collect a repeat prescription from the practice without having to make an appointment.
Repeat prescription requests can be made by the following ways:
Online
Our practice has been enabled to take repeat prescriptions online via the following link In order to make use of this facility, you must be registered as a patient with our practice. Only then can you register with this service.
By Post or Fax or In Person
The right hand side of your last repeat prescription has a list of all medications. When you require a repeat prescription, tick the box for the medication required and either send it by post with a stamped, addressed envelope, or hand it in to reception.
If the item is not on repeat the prescription may take longer or you may be asked to see the doctor to discuss your medication.
Collection by a Pharmacy
Please ensure you state the name and address of the chemist that you wish your prescription to be sent to, this can be done electronically. If the pharmacy does not collect from the surgery please send a stamped addressed envelope with your request.
What is changing?
The way repeat prescriptions are ordered has changed. From January 1st 2020 you will have to order your prescriptions directly through the GP surgery either face to face or register for online services. Your pharmacies are no longer able to order your medications.

What is not changing?
If you already order repeat prescriptions directly through your GP practice this change will not affect you.
When you order your repeat prescription directly through the practice, your pharmacy will continue to collect or receive electronically. Pharmacies may also continue to deliver your prescription if they offer this service.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
